Microsoft Word 2016

Microsoft Word 2016 is the word-processing portion of Microsoft's newly updated Microsoft Office suite of productivity programs. It provides several new features and improvements to existing features. Most notably, it allows users to view and edit PDF documents as if they had natively been made in Word itself.

Better across the board

Of course, Microsoft Word 2016 provides more than that. It provides a new-fangled "Read Mode" that, while subtle, cleans up the menus when you activate it to provide more screen space for better reading. Less subtle is its seamless compatibility with Microsoft's OneDrive storage space: you can even collaborate on documents with other users in real-time. That said, the usefulness of PDF compatibility cannot be overstated. It means that those working with PDFs (outside perhaps of publishing) do not have to learn or own separate apps.

A plan for a better Office

For home users Microsoft Word 2016 (and Office 2016 in general) is good, but its benefits are biggest for medium and large businesses. PDF compatibility can help cut down on the cost of licenses for other software, Read Mode improves its overall usability in reading-heavy jobs or during reading-heavy periods of time, and it is easy enough to adapt to that it does not create much overhead.

– Word 2016 รองรับการแก้เอกสารร่วมกันแบบเรียลไทม์ เห็นว่าเพื่อนร่วมงานกำลังแก้ไขอะไรอยู่ (แบบเดียวกับ Google Docs หรือ Office Online) ไมโครซอฟท์บอกว่าเบื้องต้นยังรองรับแค่ Word แต่ก็สัญญาว่าจะขยายไปยังแอพอื่นๆ ในภายหลัง
– สามารถสนทนากันระหว่างเพื่อนร่วมทีมภายในแอพ Office ได้เลย โดยจะเป็นการคุยผ่าน Skype for Business ที่แชท สนทนาเสียง วิดีโอ แชร์หน้าจอ ได้เหมือน Skype ตัวปกติทุกประการ

-Office 365 Groups สร้างกลุ่มทำงานย่อยเพื่อแชร์กล่องจดหมาย ปฏิทิน พื้นที่เก็บข้อมูล โน้ต ผ่าน Outlook 2016 และแอพ Outlook Groups บนอุปกรณ์พกพา

ปรับปรุงฟีเจอร์และความสามารถให้ฉลาดขึ้น (Work for You)

– Outlook 2016 ปรับปรุงระบบการค้นหาให้รวดเร็วกว่าเดิม เพิ่มความสามารถแชร์เอกสารบน OneDrive โดยกำหนดสิทธิการแชร์ได้จาก Outlook เลย
– Excel 2016 เพิ่มความสามารถในการเชื่อมต่อกับ Power BI และเพิ่มรูปแบบชาร์ทเข้ามาอีกหลายแบบ

– Tell Me ฟีเจอร์ใหม่ล่าสุด โดยจะเป็นช่องค้นหาที่อยู่ตรงแถบ Ribbon เราสามารถพิมพ์คำค้นเพื่อดูวิธีทำงานที่ต้องการบน Office แล้วกดปุ่มหรือเมนูเพื่อสั่งการได้เลย (คล้ายกับพวก Launchy หรือ Quicksilver)

– Smart Lookup แถบด้านข้าง (sidebar) ที่เพิ่มเข้ามา ช่วยให้เราค้นหาข้อมูลจาก Bing จาก Office ได้โดยไม่ต้องเปิดเบราว์เซอร์ ลากรูปมาใส่เอกสารได้เลย

– OneDrive for Business ปรับปรุงใหม่ เปลี่ยนเอนจินซิงก์ใหม่ เพิ่มเสถียรภาพของการซิงก์ รองรับไฟล์ขนาดใหญ่ขึ้น เลือกซิงก์เป็นบางไฟล์ได้ เพิ่มรายการเอกสารล่าสุด (most recently used documents list) ที่ซิงก์ข้ามทุกอุปกรณ์

ทำงานร่วมกับ Windows 10

– รองรับฟีเจอร์ล็อกอินด้วยใบหน้าหรือลายนิ้วมือ Windows Hello
– อนาคต Outlook 2016 จะเชื่อมต่อกับ Cortana โดยตรง
– แอพ Office Mobile จะรองรับฟีเจอร์ Continuum
– เพิ่มธีมสีเข้มให้เข้าชุดกับ Windows 10

ฟีเจอร์ด้านความปลอดภัยสำหรับองค์กร

– ระบบป้องกันข้อมูลรั่วไหล Data Loss Prevention ช่วยให้ฝ่ายไอทีองค์กรควบคุมการแก้ไขและการแชร์เอกสารได้ดีขึ้น
– รองรับระบบล็อกอินแบบหลายปัจจัย Multifactor Authentication
– แอพ Office Mobile จะรองรับฟีเจอร์ Enterprise Data Protection (EDP) ของ Windows 10 ควบคุมการเข้าถึงเอกสารได้จากสถานที่ต่างๆ ส่วนเวอร์ชันเดสก์ท็อปจะตามมาในช่วงต้นปี 2016
